Helping get you connected

There are a number of ways to get IT help: visit our dedicated webpages, visit one of our IT help desks or contact ServiceLine.

Solutions, the University’s IT service, offers a quick and helpful walkthrough for all new students to get their University IT set up and ready to go: http://go.soton.ac.uk/welcomeit

From downloading the MySouthampton app, finding 1,000s of online course via Lynda.com, logging into the University Wi-Fi, using your University email, where to go for help, how to print – this website has everything you need to know.

Our iSolutions team will also be around campus and halls over the welcome period to assist you with everything IT.

This will be anything from answering questions on email to setting up a Wi-Fi connection on an iPad. Our help-desks will be on campus:

  • Hartley Library: 24 September - end of October 9am – 6pm (Weekdays)
  • Avenue campus: 24 September– 5 October 9am – 5pm

To support the move-in weekend, our teams will also be at the following halls of residence and the Hartley library on 23 – 24 September between 12noon and 6pm:

  • Glen Eyre
  • Mayflower
  • Wessex Lane
  • Hartley Library

ServiceLine is the University’s IT helpdesk and is here to give you help and support with your IT. If you need help or advice with your IT, there are a number of ways to get in touch with us. You can give ServiceLine a call, email us, or search for an answer using our knowledge database. You can also visit www.southampton.ac.uk/lynda and access IT tutorials delivered by experts.
