Printing, scanning and photocopying

Follow Me Print is a managed service which enables staff to print documents from anywhere to any managed printing device.

Our printers are commonly known as Multi-Functional Devices (MFDs) as they allow you to copy and scan too.

As this is a Managed Service, we are continuously looking for ways to improve the service to ensure that we are obtaining best value for money as well as helping us to reduce our carbon footprint.

Further information about our printing service can be found here:

WiFi Guest (The Cloud)

Guests and visitors to the University can access free WiFi using the 'WiFi Guest' account which is powered by The Cloud.

Connecting to the service is easy:

  • Check your WiFi is on
  • Select WiFi Guest from the available network list
  • Open browser, refresh the page and follow the on-screen instructions to register or log in

University staff and students should still use the Eduroam service as it has greater capacity and enables access to all University networked services.

The Cloud only enables internet access for guests using our existing wireless infrastructure and its bandwidth is limited.

Wireless networking (Eduroam)

Eduroam is the wireless network provided through all wifi access points that iSolutions manage. Eduroam is now also available in Halls of Residences.

You can log into Eduroam using your university username in the format username@soton.ac.uk along with your password. You will need to have 'subscribed' first.
