What I think really makes our Law School stand out is the vast array of extra curricular opportunities, as well as the focus on employability.

What initially drew me to the University of Southampton was its reputation as a Russell Group University and the overall atmosphere of the city. It is an exciting place to live. However, since starting my degree, I have realised that the University has a lot more to offer than just an excellent academic reputation and a desirable location.

Law is an interesting and dynamic degree subject, which is magnified by the inspiring and enthusiastic lecturers. Inevitably a Law degree is extremely challenging, but it is also so rewarding. It stimulates me intellectually and has taught me invaluable skills such as time management and self-discipline.

What I think really makes our Law School stand out is the vast array of extra curricular opportunities, as well as the focus on employability. I cannot thank Jan Steele enough for all of her hard work to ensure that we receive these opportunities. Particular highlights include the two-week employability programme and the Law Fair, both of which provide the opportunity to network with law firms from across the country.

As I graduate in the up coming months I will look back on my time at the University very fondly and am hugely grateful to everyone who has had such a positive impact on my experience along the way. The legal education that I have received has prepared me well for a career in the legal sector.
