One feature that particularly made me choose to study law at the University of Southampton is its internationally acclaimed Institute of Maritime Law. Furthermore, Southampton was and still is ranked among the top 15 UK universities.

To study optional modules for two years enabled me to find my true passion for intellectual property law.

SUSU provided me with several opportunities to meet new groups of friends at different social events. For example, during the induction week we were introduced to our respective department where we were given a opportunity to get to know each other through various team-building exercises.

I engaged in various competitions organised in class during my final year. I for instance got a paper published in a journal. This most certainly helped me gain confidence and motivation to specialise in a specific area of law which appeals to me the most.

In my final year and my year abroad I had the opportunity to study modules outside my core subject area. To study optional modules for two years enabled me to find my true passion for intellectual property law. I will now commence my studies at Stockholm University in European Intellectual Property Law.

Whilst I studied at the University of Southampton I also worked part-time at a law firm and engaged in extra-curricular activities such as victim/witness support schemes. I believe these have enabled me to work more confidently in professional environments.

I was occasionally engaged in the Law Society which gave me the opportunity to participate in various events such as law fairs and socials.

The University of Southampton is a great place to study as it opens up a wide range of opportunities and provides tools for ambitious students willing to secure professional careers for their future.
