"Collective Redress for Breach of Competition Law – What Hope of Reform?"

Sir Gerald Barling is a Justice of the Chancery Division of the High Court of England and Wales. He is an Acting Deemster in the Isle of Man Court of Appeal. He was educated at St Mary’s College, Blackburn and New College, Oxford (where he was later a lecturer in law for several years). He was called to the Bar in 1972 and was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1991. From 1981 onwards his practice was based at Brick Court Chambers in London and Brussels, where he specialised in European Community law until appointed to the High Court.
