Law Students started Prize Winning new Erasmus Society

Two Final Year Law students, Martin Underwood and Abi Jones (centre in the photograph), together with students from other disciplines, started the Erasmus Society in November 2008, following their own Erasmus years abroad and won the best new society award at the SUSU Excellence in Volunteering Awards (EVAs) on 7th May 2009.

They organise many events for both incoming and outgoing students on the Erasmus/Socrates exchange programmes across the university and has attracted almost 300 members. The Society provides practical and social support for incoming students of all disciplines, as well as promoting the exchange programme to Southampton University students, including those at Winchester. Socials have included 'The Big Quiz' to raise money for Unicef, a team entered into the Banners football tournament and lots of parties! There are nearly 300 members.
