The University of Southampton's Thai students participated in the nationwide Samaggi Games held at the University of Bath on 26 March 2011.

The Southampton team had its most successful Samaggi games to date, achieving the highest number of medals. The team collected four gold medals (in double women's badminton, women's squash, double women's tennis and chairball), three silver medals (in mixed table-tennis, mixed badminton, Sepak takraw) and one bronze (in men's badminton doubles).

Law student Phakhinee Pipittvanitum, pictured, was part of the gold-winning chairball team. Chairball is a Thai sport similar to netball played in the UK. 31 teams competed in this sport and Southampton emerged as winners.
