Published: 5 July 2012

A level (year 12) students who aim to study Law can find out for themselves the realities of life as a lawyer later this month.

Academic staff have organised a special day on 17 July 2012 which will be run by a former student who is now a leading barrister working in immigration law and human rights.

Leonora Onaran, Senior Lecturer and Undergraduate Admissions Tutor says “This day will give would-be students comprehensive information about the impressive range of core and optional subjects they could study as part of their LLB programme, as well as an insight into how we teach key legal skills such as advocacy and team work.”

Current students will explain more about the social side of studying at Southampton and the various clubs and societies run by the Students’ Union.

Year 12 students who are planning to apply for an undergraduate place to study law and places are invited to apply for a place on the day by emailing Claire Musselwhite at: C.Musselwhite@soton.ac.uk before the closing date of 12 July.
