Honours for Law School volunteers
Law School students were honoured at the Southampton University Students Union (SUSU) Excellence in Volunteering Award (EVA) 2012, for their contribution towards the Housing and Employment Law clinics, which are run in collaboration with a barrister from 12 College Place Chambers.
The team, Dhaksha Giga, Amy Prime, Ivy Wooldridge, Emma Nottingham (PGR/Part-time tutor), Louise Cheung (PGR/Part-time tutor) and Adam Calloway won an award in the Collaboration category. Senior Lecturer Liz Williams says: “They have successfully demonstrated the core values of being a student-led, inclusive and representative group for the benefit of the community. We all congratulate them on their achievement and all the hard work and commitment they have shown.”
The EVA awards recognise the volunteering efforts of University of Southampton University students within the Students’ Union. In 2012, 31 awards were made across seven categories. They were presented at a ceremony at The Cube and streamed live on SUSU TV.
