Funding success for HEAL academics

Published: 10 April 2013 Origin:  Health Ethics and Law (HEAL)

Dr Caroline Jones and Professor Jonathan Montgomery secured funding from the British Academy and Leverhulme Small Research Grants scheme for their project, ‘Test case biographies as a method for studying hidden law-making’. The British Academy/Leverhulme grant has brought the first research assistant funding into HEAL, and will also fund a scoping symposium in 2013 and colloquium in 2014.

This project is part of a broader programme of research on ‘Hidden Lawmakers in Health Care Law’, which has seen HEAL host two workshops. The first, in 2011, was funded by the Modern Law Review seminar series fund, and explored ‘The Impact of Litigation Strategies on the Development of Health Care law in England and Wales’. In 2012, the Faculty of Business and Law supported a second workshop, on the theme of ‘The Impact of Intervenors' Litigation Strategies on the Development of Health Care Law'.
