International researchers visit ILAWS
Two academics from Xi’an Jiaotong University in China are visiting ILAWS at the Southampton Law School to pursue their research in Europe.
Professor Zhiguo Ma is Director of the Intellectual Property Rights Research Centre of Xi’an Jiaotong University. He is also Vice dean of Law School of Xi’an Jiaotong University and Vice Director of China’s Technology Law Association and a senior colleague of Professor Fang Zhou who joined us in November 2012.
Professor Ma’s research focuses on the legal issues concerning open source code software, General Public Licensing, and Internet Intellectual Property Rights issues. Professor Zhou is investigating the legal aspects of how western companies are employing traditional Chinese knowledge such as medicine. She is Vice Director Shaanxi Provincial Key Research Base of Philosophy and Social Sciences.
