Southampton law lecturer speaks at international law conference
Dr Alexandros Ntovas from the Southampton Law School has taken part in the proceedings of the International Law Association’s 2013 Regional Conference, addressing delegates meeting at the European Public Law Organization (EPLO) headquarters in Greece about the international laws governing fisheries.
His paper was entitled Transjurisdictional fishery resources and the constitutionalisation effect of compulsory dispute settlement procedures .
The conference, in exploring the theme of Imperium Juris, brought together members of the academic and professional community who discussed current challenges facing the rule of law on an international level, with a focus on issues of governance, trade and resources. These areas are at the heart of current developments, globally and regionally, within a framework of international regulations, multiple actors, changing patterns of authority between and within States and emerging global needs, leading to a renewed attention to governance, resources and development.
The University of Southampton Faculty of Business and Law’s Research Fund aided his attendance at the conference.
