Global identity issues debated at major international

ILAWS academics and students will be discussing latest developments in IT law next month at the 8th International Conference on Legal, Security and Privacy Issues in IT Law series in Bangkok.

Organised by the International Association of IT Lawyers (IAITL), the five day event is chaired by Sylvia Kierkegaard, Association President and Visiting Professor at the Southampton Law School.

This is the first international conference of its kind which annually gathers experts from academia, government, industry and the judiciary to discuss key legal issues related to legal, security and privacy Issues in IT, Private and Public Law and international trade.

ILAWS Director Professor Steve Saxby will chair a seminar on the global challenge of electronic identity; issues to be discussed will include identity in the digital age, ownership of data, the impact of cloud computing, automated identification technologies and big data analysis on individual rights.
