Alumnus contributes his expertise
Law School alumnus Kit Burden, who leads for DLA Piper in the firm's global technology work, has joined the professional board of the academic journal Computer Law and Security Review which is edited by Professor Steve Saxby, Director of ILAWS.
He became interested in the subject after taking Steve’s module in IT Law as part of his LLB at Southampton in the 1980s; Kit published a paper in the journal himself in 1992. “My early studies at Southampton in the sector sparked my interest in the subject, I am delighted to work with Steve and the team at ILAWS again,” he says.
Kit is Partner and Head of Technology, Sourcing and Commercial Group at DLA Piper and works with clients including UBS, Dixons, TUI, Royal Bank of Scotland, Lloyds Banking Group, the British Council, HSBC and Tesco. He is regarded as a leading IT and outsourcing lawyer by Legal 500, Legal Experts and Chambers. The most recent edition of Chambers describes him as ‘a brilliant IT lawyer’ with ‘a grand reputation’.
