Law student set for mini pupillage at top UK barristers' chambers
First year Law students have the opportunity to win a mini-pupillage with one of the UK’s oldest and largest barristers’ chambers.
3PB has offices in London, Bournemouth, Bristol, Oxford and Winchester and is offering one lucky Southampton Law School student the chance to spend a fortnight gaining experience with their set.
The student that scores highest in their criminal law module will secure the place that will see them attached to a number of leading criminal practitioners at 3PB’s offices, primarily in Winchester and Bournemouth, and possibly in London if suitable work arises there.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for one of our first year students. 3PB has a number of Queen’s Counsel, as well as leading juniors and members of vast experience, and the mini-pupillage will give the winner the chance to experience the workings of a barristers’ chambers and to learn more about the challenges and opportunities faced by the criminal bar,” said Micheál O’ Floinn, a lecturer in the law department currently teaching on the criminal law module.
The mini-pupillage will ordinarily take place in September, although this can be discussed. The student will also receive prize money to the value of £200, and will be entitled to reasonable travel costs (standard train/bus fare to and from each centre).
