Live streaming of High Court decision of R Miller v Secretary of State

On Monday 5th December 2016, the Supreme Court began hearing the widely publicised appeal of the recent High Court decision of R (Miller) v Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union [2016].
In view of the constitutional significance of the Miller case on triggering article 50, Head of School, Professor Brenda Hannigan, believed the opening day of the appeal should be streamed live. The video and audio streaming was organised by Dr Emma Laurie and both staff and students were invited to stop by and watch parts of the hearing, thereby providing both an educational and social opportunity for staff and students to meet and discuss these important constitutional proceedings as they happened. Pastries and soft drinks were provided throughout the day.
