Director of Postgraduate Programmes conducts successful visit to Dalian Maritime University

Professor Filippo Lorenzon of Southampton Law School visited Dalian Maritime University (DMU) Law School on 28-29 September 2017 to deliver two seminars.

The first, on “The Incoterms 2020: What’s New" which was attended by about 150 students and staff. His second seminar was entitled “The future of shipping” and presented previous and current research projects that Filippo has been working on in the Institute Maritime Law and Southampton Law School.

Both seminars attracted great interest from Dalian Maritime University in terms of both education and research. During his visit, Filippo was shown a number of different facilities on campus of Dalian Maritime University by the welcoming staff there.

Filippo met with the Dean of Law School, Professor Beiping Chu and staff from Law School and the Director of the Postgraduate School of DMU to discuss potential collaborations between Southampton Law School and Dalian Maritime Law School at various levels.

Dalian Maritime University recently ranked in the latest Chinese Universities development strategic project called "Two First Classes of China (Shuang Yi Liu)" in contrast with the Project 211 and Project 985 which aim to improve the standards of the top 100 and 40 Chinese universities respectively.
