The Brexit vote has been linked with the upsurge in racially and religiously aggravated offences recorded in July 2016. Polish nationals, who have become the largest group of EU nationals in the UK, were targeted by many post-Brexit hate crime incidents. This project is collecting empirical evidence among the Polish community in Southampton on the increasing vulnerability of this group in connection with Brexit. Adult Polish nationals who have lived in Southampton between 2014 and 2017 are invited to participate in the survey and in the focus groups that will be held at the end of May. The project is led by Dr Sara Benedi Lahuerta (Law School), together with Dr Ingi Iusmen (Politics), and it is funded by FBLA-SIRDF. For more information, contact polishexperience@soton.ac.uk.
