Building Sustainable and Inclusive Trade in the Asia-Pacific and Beyond

Professor Emily Reid spoke at the Royal Academy of Arts on yesterday as part of an invited panel discussion, ‘Building Sustainable and Inclusive Trade in the Asia-Pacific and Beyond’.

The event, held in conjunction with the Oceania Exhibition, was presented by the New Zealand High Commission, which is co-sponsoring the Exhibition. Professor Reid was invited to speak on ‘Trade and Sustainability’. The Panel was chaired by Stephanie Honey, Associate Director of the New Zealand International Business Forum, and the other panellists were: Vanessa Erogbogbo, Head of the International Trade Centre’s SheTrades Initiative; Edwini Kessie, Director, Agriculture and Commodities Division at the WTO and Kirk Haywood, Legal Adviser, Trade & Lead, Commonwealth Connectivity Agenda at the Commonwealth Secretariat. The range of expertise and perspectives prompted a stimulating discussion, a springboard for further, future discussion and a degree of optimism that sustainability is strengthening its position on the agenda in the development of international trade relations.
