LLM Challenge which I participated helped me develop a more mature researching skill and strengthened my group working ability.

The University of Southampton has a great reputation around the world, especially for the maritime law subject, ranking top in England. Besides, it’s a convenient and colourful city which provides an opportunity to enrich your lifestyle. Thirdly, coastal city is pretty attractive to me.

The LLM Challenge which I participated in helped me develop a more mature researching skill and strengthened my group working ability. I also joined the Badminton society during my time here.

I joined the student union and worked for public relations department during my undergraduate study back in China. I also worked for career development organization for two years to give advice to law students for their future careers. Moreover, I travelled to several countries to do some volunteer work for the protection of wildlife.

First of all, the modules are taught by experienced professors and can illustrate the law in depth both academicly and practically. Secondly, the maritime law program provides a variety of module choices for us.

Last but not least, there are quite a lot of visiting speakers that visited to present their knowledge of the shipping industry as well as exposing some legal issues in practice.

I worked as a paralegal for one month during the summer holiday in Shanghai, and also had an internship at a leading shipping company for two months. These work experiences highly related to my courses, and more importantly, enhanced my social skills.

Southampton is a convenient and modern place for study and research, providing comprehensive development for individuals and a variety of working opportunities.
