Wassim Dbouk LLM Maritime Law, 2015
Southampton Law School was the best place for me to study maritime law. I knew of the reputation of its academic staff and the University of Southampton.

I knew it would be challenging to work in a completely different legal system than in my home country of Lebanon and the course took me well outside my comfort zone but it has been a very worthwhile experience. I am looking forward to benefiting from the international exposure I acquired through the many connections I have made with highly qualified individuals from around the globe.
I was delighted to win three Law School prizes, a joint prize for the best LLM Dissertation, the best Academic performance on the LLM and the Clyde & Co Prize for the best overall performance in LLM Maritime Law
Over the next three years, I will be staying in academia, thanks to a PhD studentship. I will be researching the pollution liability and insurance aspects for the operation of offshore oil platforms. My dream is to contribute to the body of legal knowledge and give something back to society through my research.
