My experiences at Southampton have been an adventure. As a young girl straight from high school, moving to the UK was a test, very challenging one at that too, but I have learned to be bold, I have matured and I have become fearless.

One word to sum up my experience at Southampton is definitely ‘DARING’.

My first year experience at Southampton was an amazing one, but not without its fair share of challenges. Not only was I beginning a new level of academic study, but I was doing so in a new country and in a system with which I had no previous experience. I know just how intimidating, challenging and overwhelming such an experience can be, but I have made many friends from my year at Mayflower Halls of residence. The city of Southampton is always alive, it feels very safe and energized.

I am a member of the Southampton Law Society, the Canadian Law Society and the Inns of Court Society, and I was chosen to be a Mentor in last year’s Clyde & Co Challenge. Working under the leadership of experts at the University along with other bright peers has allowed me to gain immense skills.

I enjoy the international connection in my modules because the world we live in today is global. Furthermore, being from Canada I find it important to make links in my work.
