I chose to study at Southampton because of the 2 year LLB JD programme, the inclusion of the Canadian Constitutional module was very appealing. Aside from the academic staff, the location of the city in relation to London was also a significant factor for me.

The faculty of law is tight knit group, the JD (Juris Doctor) students are kept together in a small tutorial group for each module, which allows for more face to face interaction with the teaching staff. The academic achievements of many of the lecturers as well as their desire to help students succeed is awesome.

The Canadian Law Society is a great group of students that really help the first years integrate into the school. There is a Canadian lecturer, who is always there to help out, even if he is not your personal tutor. The Canadian Law Society is a great group of people as well with more experience in the school and city.

Southampton has a lot to offer while maintaining a rather quiet and smaller campus. As with all of the UK, there are hundreds of pubs so unlike many Canadian university cities, there is always something new to do at night.
