I am confident to say that the teaching standards and the extra-curricular opportunities offered by the University have played a central role in reaching my professional objectives.

Southampton is a wonderful place to live as it offers a great deal of entertainment, and the University has a great number of facilities. Every time I go to campus, the SU bar or the gym I am sure I will meet someone I know!

I have taken up a large number of opportunities while at the University, as I wanted to live the experience to the fullest. I cannot emphasise enough the importance of getting involved in societies, clubs and employers’ events. I got involved in the Law Society, the Mooting Society, and the Futures in Finance Conference. These career-oriented events helped me understand what I am passionate about and what I would like to do in the future.

By being part of the committee of several societies, I learnt a great deal about working within a small group of people, organising events and even managing the finances of a small business.

As part of my course I took the chance to study abroad for one year in France. This was an incredible experience in so many ways, and gave me the opportunity to learn a foreign language, as well as the basics of another legal system.

I enjoy the discussion and deep analysis, which take place in tutorials. Tutorials give you the chance to question and analyse the law, as opposed to simply learning it. My tutors always do their best to stimulate debate and critical thinking in class and it is really nice to feel that everyone’s opinion is valued.
