This course is an ideal follow-on course from Take One Idea, but is also suitable for anyone looking to get started or enhance their narrative writing skills.
The course gives you the opportunity to get to grips with some of the key building blocks for writing narrative fiction. Starting with setting and description, you will explore the topics of character, plot, point of view, voice and story-telling. You will be guided through some of the theory behind each subject before being encouraged to produce your own piece of work in response. Each session will be divided into two parts: the first focussing on the key features of the topic before you put pen to paper and create a written response from scratch using the techniques you have learned. Ideal for beginners, this course provides the information and encouragement you need to get started with narrative fiction or, for more experienced authors, it is a great opportunity to develop and expand your existing skill set
