On Saturday 14 April, Lifelong Learning were pleased to welcome visitors from the university and local community to our Picking Apart Pain study day.

Through presentations and discussions, guests learnt about the hidden complexities of pain and how and why it is much more than simply a physical sensation.

Krithika Anil, PHD candidate from the Faculty of Engineering researching treatments for nerve pains led the day’s talks.

Guests stated that the event provided them with a “well rounded” understanding of the concept of pain, and broadened their perspectives by introducing them to themes and issues such as pain management and the subjectivity surrounding pain.

Bookings are now open for our next study day on ‘DAZZLE-Disguise & Disruption in War & Art’ on 30 June, organised in collaboration with Great War: Unknown War.
