Multidisciplinary angles on the meaning of cultural life

Well-grounded theories are available to explain what people want from the arts, why different groups of people like different sorts of art and why attitudes to unfamiliar art vary so widely. In search of new ways to encourage arts participation across the university, the CULTURE CAFE hosts a debate tackling fundamental questions about the meaning and social function of art, with speakers from Economics, Philosophy, Politics, Psychology, Sociology and Social Policy.
