Event details

Every human being has a unique story to tell, and that story is written in their bones. Osteoarchaeologists examine the remains of our ancestors to understand more about past lifestyles, diets, diseases, and death. In order to piece past lives back together, osteoarchaeologists use a variety of techniques to understand more about the individual skeleton before them.

This advanced level osteoarchaeology day school will allow you to examine markers which can provide important information about an individual’s lifestyle, such as the diseases they suffered with, the tell-tale signs of a hard lifestyle, and how our skeleton evolved into what it is today.

At the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Identify common markers of disease, stress and trauma
  • Understand the importance of and identify occupational markers
  • Understand how the human skeleton has evolved from our hominid ancestors

Cost to the day (not including lunch) is £50.00. If all three days are booked together a discounted rate of £125.00 will be available.
