Event details

The culture of ancient Egypt endured for three milleniia and thanks to a dry climate we have preserved today a truly amazing range of both art and artefacts from tombs and temples. This day school will explore both material culture and tomb relief art. We start with the earliest painted tomb (approximately 5500 years old) and work though fascinating daily life scenes from the Old Kingdom to the tombs of the New Kingdom pharaohs in the Valley of the Kings and the artefacts from the tomb of the boy-king Tutankhamun.
