Learning Paths and Collections

Learning Paths are a great avenue for answering the question, where do I get started? Whether you're looking to transform your current career path, jump into a brand new career, or sharpen your skills in your current job, Learning Paths can be your guide to success. The Learning Paths are a group of courses, quizzes, and practice sections, that are carefully curated by content specialists. Find out more.

Collections (formerly playlists), as the name suggests, are courses that have been curated by individuals who are experts in their fields to guide you through specific learning paths and goals. Find out more.


Collaborative learning

Some of you may find that you are lacking motivation to complete a course when you are working alone. This is where collaborative learning shines. It encourages participants to share success, get feedback on their progress while also fostering friendly competition. Considerable research backs the fact that collaboration increases motivation and enhances learning.

There are courses on learning soft skills such as how to give a presentation. Such a course is the first step to learn how to present or overcome stage fright. The next step would be to practice your new skills within a group and receive constructive feedback.

It is therefore our advice that you form small a group with likeminded colleagues and peers. You can set your own goals, create custom playlists, set timed tasks and even set your own performance assessments. These groups can be created offline, meeting a couple of times a month, or online, on Facebook, LinkedIn or the like. And doing this might be easier than you might think; there are many people for instance who want to learn how to code. It is just a matter of taking the initiative.

Exercise files 

As part of your subscription, you have access to the example files used by the authors in the courses you watch allowing you to follow along, doing exactly what the author is doing with photos, videos, audio files, business documents, and so on. Not all courses have exercise files, but for those that do, you will see this exercise files option under the download menu above the video player.


Certificates of completion

Certificates of completion make it easier than ever to share your success and progress at With each course you finish, a new certificate of completion will appear in your account. Just go to your profile and select certificates. These are a great way to let your social networks, co-workers, and current and potential employers see the value and diversity of your skills.

However, please note that these certificates are not recognised or endorsed by third-party authorities and as such should not be relied upon as official certification for a particular skill. They only reflect that you have completed a course on LinkedIn Learning.

Although the majority of courses are eligible for earning a certificate of completion, please note that courses that have frequent updates, such as Deke's Techniques or 10-minute tips, are not eligible for earning a certificate of completion because new content is always being added.




Find a mentor

Mentors are incredibly useful when you are learning a new skill, especially technical ones, for example learning a software or learning how to code. Finding people who are even just a few steps ahead of you on the learning curve, can be extremely beneficial. This is where you will learn best practices, how to avoid certain pit-falls and get answers to your queries.

If you are a member of the staff, these mentors might be your co-workers. For students, they can be your professors or students in upper years. Finding such people will only enhance and support your learning.
