Research interests

I am broadly interested in the physics of accreting compact objects, especially neutron stars. My main research focus is the study of the Type I bursts: extremely bright X-ray flashes due to unstable nuclear burning in the accreted material on neutron stars in binary systems. The bursts have applications to burning physics and can also help us constrain the mass and radius of the neutron stars so giving very important clues about the behaviour of matter in the interior of the neutron stars.
