Dhvani Desai BSc Economics and Actuarial Science2011

The exemptions that the university offers are very useful and make you more employable when it comes to applying for jobs. Alongside this, the support that is given to students is incredible; making the University a home away from home.
I choose to study at the University of Southampton because it has an excellent reputation within the UK as well as globally. When I first started looking into potential universities, the student experience that I read up on at this university was the most appealing and I have enjoyed every minute of it. From academia to societies to sporting activities, there is something for everyone to get involved in.
On average I attend about eight hours of lectures a week and a further 4 hours in classes. Lectures give me a background and understanding of a topic which I further read up on in my spare time. Classes on the other hand are an opportunity to solve set problems and ask any further questions.
I would definitely recommend a BSc in Economics and Actuarial Science to anyone that is interested in pursuing a career as an Actuary in the future. After I graduate I am looking at pursuing a career as an Actuary. This involves sitting the relevant exams to fully qualify as an Actuary.
