The University of Southampton is the university that gives the most exemptions from the professional actuarial exams, which is valuable for anyone who wants to pursue his/her career in actuarial related field.

As an international student coming to the UK, and Southampton in particular, I was a little nervous perhaps because this place was new for me and I was leaving my friends and family.  During my induction week I meet many students who were on my course, so I made friends early on before the start of the semester.

My reason for choosing Southampton was that I wanted to study Actuarial Science without the constraints of the degree being too narrow and concerned with only Actuarial Science.  BSc Mathematics with Actuarial science was one of the few degrees that met this criterion. Furthermore the University of Southampton is the University that gives the most exemptions from the professional actuarial exams which is valuable for anyone who wants to pursue his/her career in actuarial related field. In terms of its academic environment I firmly believe that the University of Southampton gives the best value for money. Apart from the competitive academic environment, the University has a great fitness centre and many clubs and societies, which adds to the overall university experience and provides a great way to meet other students who share the same ideas and enthusiasm.

These three years have definitely been the best three years of life providing valuable lessons and memories for all my life. It has been a truly wonderful experience for me.
