Professor champions in new BBC quiz

Published: 22 February 2011

Professors from the University of Southampton took part in a new BBC quiz battling against students with our very own Dr Jim Anderson taking part.

BBC Radio 4's new quiz The Third Degree began this week with the first programme recorded at the University of Southampton.

Professor Guy Poppy (Biological Sciences), Dr Will May (Humanities) and Dr James Anderson (Mathematics) were the staff team and the students were Raphael Briand, Sally Williams and Stuart Wynn.

The formula for the show is described as 'host Steve Punt quizzes Biology students and Mathematics dons alike on dachshunds, Dante, and Doctor Who' and the staff team championed their  highbrow and lowbrow knowledge.

It is available to listen to online until 27th February.
