Event details

Are you interested in a PhD in Mathematical Sciences at a prestigious, research-led University? Come to our PhD open day. You will have the opportunity to visit the School of Mathematics, meet our staff and current PhD students, and hear presentations on our PhD programmes and on the research projects on offer. These span all areas of Mathematical Sciences: Applied Mathematics, Operational Research, Pure Mathematics, Statistics and Theoretical Physics. We have a number of full studentships available for UK/EU applicants (3 years of funding consisting of full fees, approximately £1,000 per year of travel money and a tax free stipend of approximately £13,500 per year). Non UK/EU applicants who have partial funding of their own may apply for a top-up studentship. We also offer "Mayflower" scholarships: successful applicants will be funded for four years and will be required to spend 25% of their time teaching undergraduates.

Who should come?Anyone interested in postgraduate research in pure mathematics, applied mathematics and theoretical physics, statistics or operational research. Those studying for physics or engineering degrees and who wish to undertake postgraduate research in a relevant interdisciplinary or mathematical area are also encouraged to attend.
