Abstract

Mr Visesh Gosrani will cover the recent history of the Cyber market and its projected future growth. Visesh will describe how Cyber as a peril is different to others and how the market has dealt with this difference to date and what the market is doing going forward. The background to commentary about Cyber potentially being uninsurable and how the market is developing products and techniques to mitigate this will also be discussed.

Biography

Visesh has over 20 years of experience as an Actuary and Chief Risk Officer in the insurance industry. In that time, he has developed a keen interest in the collection and use of behavioural data to better select insureds and to help them reduce their level of risk. Visesh co-founded Shoal, to develop mechanisms to deduce underlying risk preferences for policyholders. These mechanisms were then applied to corporate cyber risk for Cyence, a cyber risk model vendor.

He continues his interest in Cyber as Chair of the Institute and Faculty of the Actuaries Cyber Risk Working Party, as a member of the Advisory Board for Kovrr, a Cyber Risk model vendor and as the Director of Catastrophe Modelling at Cowbell Cyber.

Outside of work, Visesh enjoys spending time with his wife and 6-year old son (especially when travelling) and manages to find joy in hacking round a golf course.
