Event details

90% of world trade is seaborn and volumes are continuing to increase. The application of artificial intelligence within the shipping industry is a rapidly evolving field, for example in optimising ship operational performance or improving the efficiency of vessels to aid decarbonisation, informing on better shipping practices.

This event will explore the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools (e.g. machine learning, autonomous systems) in the maritime industry. We will hear from industry professionals and academics during the discussions on the latest practices in AI usage for shipping to gain insight into what advancements are being made, and at what rate. We also aim to better understand the future challenges and opportunities of these applications, and the trustworthiness of the systems themselves.
