GR/Applied Student Seminar

The quantization of a system is the process of building a quantum version of a classical system. For linear systems with a finite number of degrees of freedom (under certain requirements) a unique quantization is possible. Mathematically stated in the Stone-Von Neumann Theorem. For field theories this is not true so there are many inequivalent quantum version of a single classical field theory.

The talk will state this explicitly and will suggest ways to restore uniqueness.
