Houghton's Groups Seminar

We will get the ball rolling with a couple of weeks on Houghton's remarkable examples of permutation groups that hold many beautiful finiteness properties and belong to the class of elementary amenable groups. These groups are of interest cohomologically and they have interesting centralizer behaviour.
