Representations of free groups Seminar

The story of representation theory of free groups has been worked out in the 80's in the context of harmonic analysis on free groups. This theory is so far successfully evading a generalisation to hyperbolic groups. I will indicate the context/motivation for looking at these topics (proper actions, the Baum-Connes conjecture), as well as explain the construction of the series of representations for free groups using its boundary.
