Series K-theory seminar

Abstract
We have seen in this seminar different aspects of K-theory; algebraic, topological, and operator theoretic ones. In this talk, I will review a homotopy theoretic definition of K-theory. The topological K-theory is realised as a set of homotopy classes of maps into a spectrum, and thus, as a generalised cohomology theory. From this view point, basic notions such as the ring structure, the Bott periodicity, and the Adams operation will also be reviewed.
