Event details

Given a simple, simply-connected, compact Lie group G, we can modify G and "localize" its homotopy groups in homotopy theory. After localization, if the rank of G is not too big, then G can be decomposed into a product of simpler spaces with good properties. This homotopy decomposition can simplify our analysis of the structure of G, and it plays an important role in my thesis to calculate the order of commutators on certain Lie groups.
