Abstract: The first part (joint work with Jan Spakula) will explain the metric notion of strong hyperbolicity. As the name suggests, this is a strengthening of the usual Gromov hyperbolicity. In the second part, I will sketch a short new proof of the fact that hyperbolic groups admit proper affine isometric actions on Lp-spaces, for p large enough.
