Business analytics has taken the spotlight in recent years in boardrooms. Many companies are employing analytics to obtain a competitive advantage or transforming it into their competitive advantage. The critical question is: is the field of management science exploiting this opportunity? The talk will be based on a personal perspective from multiple activities related with the business analytics field in recent years. Hopefully, the talk will inspire new avenues for research and a change of paradigm among the members of the management science field.
