Improving Patient Outcomes in Pressure Ulcer Prevention

Dr Worsley presented at a Sumed International workshop ‘Improving Patient Outcomes in Pressure Ulcer Prevention’ last month.

The event, hosted by the University of Salford and sponsored by industrial collaborator Sumed International Ltd was aimed at local and national clinicians interesting in pressure ulcer prevention. The latest pressure monitoring equipment (ForeSitePT) was showcased and the application of the technology was demonstrated by clinical researchers.

Dr Worsley highlighted the new research agenda associated with the ForeSite technology, including an EPSRC-Sumed funded CASE PhD studentship (starting Oct 2016) and a Clinical Academic PhD in Salisbury NHS Trusts aimed to prevent pressure ulcers in Spinal Cord Injured (SCI) patients).
