The Medical Education Innovation Network (MEIN) was developed in order to support students' success, by increasing teaching and learning effectiveness. It aims to share best practices in education to improve students' learning experiences by supporting new educational strategies, disseminating cutting-edge educational research and promoting innovative projects.
The network, a dedicated group of teacher-focused academics within the Faculty of Medicine, was launched at the beginning of the 2017/18 academic year. A half-day conference officially opened MEIN, with a focus on “Roots in the past. Eyes on the future.”
The Teaching and Scholarship Podcast began as a collaboration between The University of Southampton’s Centre for Higher Education Practice (CHEP) and the Medical Education Innovation Network (Faculty of Medicine). It was intended to be of interest to all teaching focused academics in higher education who strive towards teaching excellence and wish to innovate their practice. The podcast aimed to promote and raise the profile of teaching excellence within university education.
