Hot Topics in Health and Medicine: Public Seminars

Published: 28 June 2012

The CELS group is developing a rolling public seminar programme - Hot Topics in Health and Ethics - on ethical issues in genetic medicine, which will be accessible to people in Southampton.

It is planned that this programme of events will complement the research work of the CELS group and will include debates on issues such as stem cell technologies, ‘designer' babies and the genetic testing of children for adult onset conditions.

Angela Fenwick and Gill Crawford have received Faculty of Medicine enterprise funding to pilot a first seminar which will take place in September 2012 (date to be confirmed):  "Genes and me: Should I be tested?    Professor Anneke Lucassen will be the speaker.
