Winners of the Jan Schmedlin Prize 2011-12 announced

Published: 31 January 2013

Each year the Academic Unit for Medical Education (AUME) awards the Jan Schmedlin Prize to the value of £150 for the student judged to have submitted an outstanding report on a BMedSc project while supervised by a member of the Unit.

The prize was established in 2007 in memory of Mrs Janis Schmedlin, a valued staff member of the office of the Faculty of Medicine.

The 2011-2012 prize was jointly awarded to Mahdi Nazar and Michael Swindon. Mahdi's project was titled "Medical Students' Perceptions of the Bridges and Barriers to Cultural Diversity" and Michael's project was titled "A Web-Based Education Tool for Adolescents with Tuberculosis".

The cheque will be handed to the winners during the Prize Award Ceremony at the Fourth Year Conference on 16th and 17th May, 2013. Many congratulations, Mahdi and Michael!
