Joint PhD with Computer Science and Medical Education completed

Jean-Rémy Duboc just finished his PhD in Computer Science and Medical Education funded jointly by the Strategic Health Authority and the then School of Medicine.

Previously Jean-Rémy had worked as an eLearning developer with Dr Sunhea Choi in the Faculty of Medicine. He then started research under her supervision, investigating the potential of Semantic Web technologies for Virtual Patients, in particular for the automatic generation of feedback. This work advances the state of the art in Virtual Patients for clinical reasoning.

The PhD was also supervised by Dr Mark Weal and Professor Hugh Davies from Electronics and Computer Sciences (ECS).  The external examiner was Professor Terry Poulton from St George's, University of London.
