The concluding part of a two-part series of articles entitled ‘Successfully widening access to medicine’ has just been published in the October issue of the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine.

Written by Sally Curtis, Carolyn Blundell, Christine Platz and Linda Turner, Part 1 focusses on the recruitment and admissions process while Part 2 explores the issues of curriculum design and student progression.

These papers are the first to publish comprehensive admissions and progression data for UK widening access to medicine programmes.

Sally is currently working as an external advisor on the development of new widening access programmes at two other Russell Group universities.

The journal, which was first published in 1809, can be found online at http://jrs.sagepub.com/.
